Alpha Phi is proud to have provided scholarships to future teachers for over 35 years! Our scholarship recipients have gone on to successful teaching careers, including several who teach in area school districts, and a few who are now members of Alpha Phi! We are excited to offer our annual scholarship opportunity in the spring of 2024! The Candy Malm Memorial Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Candy Malm, PAWN Special Education Coop Director, and a charter member of Alpha Phi. Candy was an individual of extraordinary talent, energy and positivity with a passion for life. She was extremely kind, adventurous, and friendly. Candy loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends. She lived life with a smile on her face! The Candy Malm Memorial Scholarship’s mission is to award grants to support the higher education goals of its recipients. These recipients are current teachers in the PAWN (Park Rapids, Pine Point, Walker-Hackensack-Akeley, Nevis) special education cooperative school district who are pursuing a degree or certification in a special education field, including general education teachers getting a degree in special education as well as special education teachers seeking certification in another area of special education.
